Avalanche Need To Pay Back Canucks Tonight
But they'll have to do it without Makar; Also, my NHL best bets for tonight and trade talk I am hearing
The Vancouver Canucks have been one of the more disappointing teams in the NHL this season. So much so, that there are multiple reports out there that Bruce Boudreau will be fired by this weekend and will be replaced by former Avs assistant Rick Tocchet.
Why Boudreau is being left to hang for a couple more days? A lot of people are asking that.

I hate seeing anyone lose their job. I’ve lost a few, and know how tough it is. Gabby will be OK though. He’s probably got a few million in the bank and has been a very successful coach. He’ll find other work.
It’s important for the Avalanche to have no sympathy against the Vancouver Canucks tonight though. This is the third and final meeting between the teams this year, and so far the Avs are 0-2. That included a loss last month in Vancouver after the Avs had a 2-0 lead and just kind of collapsed.
It’s time to get a win against the Canucks and let them keep sorting out their own problems.
Avs will have to do it without Cale Makar, though. The team said earlier today Makar will miss his second straight game with what is believed a minor upper-body injury.
I do believe, what I’ve heard, that Makar will be back no later than early next week, if not tomorrow in Seattle.
