Avalanche Flattening Out At Worst Time
But I still think they'll win this series and here's why
I’m still an optimist overall. I still think the Avalanche will win this series with Seattle, despite tonight’s absolute dead-man-walking performance at home in Game 5 against the Kraken.
Nathan MacKinnon went on ESPN before the game tonight and told Leanne Hextall: “Just for tonight, I’m very confident we can beat these guys and get Cale back for Game 6.”
Yeah, not tonight. The Avalanche came out flat, and other than a MacKinnon goal that briefly tied it up, were never in this one. Series is 3-2 Seattle now, with Game 6 at Climate Pledge Arena Friday night (Have you taken your pledge, people? That includes you, Kraken personnel, many of whom drive fossil-fueled vehicles to and from the games and I have the receipts).
I still believe in this team. I think the Avs win Friday in Seattle to force a Game 7. Cale Makar will be back. The Avs will finally, maybe, take a game seriously in this series. ‘
I still think the Avs are the better team. And I believe the better team wins the series 99% of the time.
Well, maybe that often. But close.
Keep the faith Avs fan. It was just one game.
