Fans of Jean-Luc Foudy were very hopeful this would be the year he stuck with the Avalanche coming out of training camp. After all, three regular forwards would not be ready yet for opening night, and Foudy would have seemed to have a leg up on training-camp competition, having been in the organization for a few years now.
But the 22-year-old center was one of 10 cuts made yesterday by the Avs, and Foudy now faces another one-way ticket to the Colorado Eagles. Among some notable other cuts: Forward Matt Stienburg (who not only suffered the indignity of being on the cut list but also having his last name spelled wrong by the team), defenseman Sean Behrens and forward Jere Innala.
