A Perfect Weekend Capped With Win vs. Caps

Colorado starts the road trip with four points.

A few weeks back, I mentioned that it was a perfect weekend of hockey for the Avalanche.

I think we can go ahead and add this one to the list.

Sure, it took overtime today against the Washington Capitals, and yes, that means surrendering a point… but who really cares? They’re in the Eastern Conference. That does nothing for us right now.

After a sluggish three-game stretch — flat in Winnipeg (travel issues finally explained that one), blown out by Pittsburgh, and letting a strong effort slip away against Dallas — this was exactly what the team needed: four points in two games. No excuses.
